THE KIDS IN THE SHOE (dir. Dave Fleischer 1935, 7min)

The old lady who lives in a shoe has a bit of trouble with her gaggle of children. "For wasting your bread, it's off to bed!" yells the old woman, who ties ropes to her rocking chair to accommodate all the kids at once! As soon as their mother's in bed, they launch a wild party, playing musical instruments and doing a swinging rendition of Smiley Burnette's classic "Mama Don't Allow No Music Playing Round Here."

PIGS IN A POLKA (dir. Fritz Freleng 1943, 7min)
Pigs in a Polka is a one-reel Technicolor animation in the Merrie Melodies series, produced by Leon Schlesinger and with musical supervision by Carl W. Stalling. The film is a parody of two Walt Disney films: 1933 Three Little Pigs and 1940 Fantasia. The familiar story of the three little pigs is set in this film to Brahm´s "Hungarian Dances" No.5, No.7, No.6 and No.17. It was nominated for the 1942 Academy Award.

LE BALLON ROUGE (dir. Albert Lamorisse 1956, 34min)
The film follows the adventures of a young boy who one day finds a sentient, mute, red balloon. It was filmed in the Ménilmontant neighborhood of Paris. It won numerous awards, including an Oscar for the best original screenplay in 1956 and the Palme d´Or for short flms at the 1956 Cannes Film Festival. Lamorisse used his children as actors in the film. His son, Pascal Lamorisse, plays Pascal in the main role, and his daughter Sabine portrays a little girl.
