Viides audiovisuaalisen taiteen festivaali AAVE ilmaantuu Helsingin tapahtuma-areenoille huhtikuun toisella viikolla. Varjojen lepattaessa ja kuuloluita kaiuttelevien äänten sinkoutuessa sukellamme jälleen liikkuvan kuvan monimuotoisuuteen...
Kulttuurikeskus Malmitalon pääohjelmiston kohokohtia on Sibelius-akatemian kanssa tuotettu, Fausto Romitellin ja Paolo Pachinin video-ooppera An Index of Metals, jonka esittää NYKY Ensemble. Performanssissa yhdistyy oopperalaulu, kamariorkesteri, elektroninen musiikki ja videotaide.
Kirsi Reinolan Yleisradiolle tekemä 6-osainen tv-dokumenttisarja suomalaisista mediataiteilijoista esitetään installaatiomuotoisena Helsingin Lasipalatsissa. Tänä vuonna valtaamme myös Lasipalatsin aukion sekä levittäydymme kaupungille videoprojektorein: Night of The Beamers on osallistava yleisötapahtuma, johon helsinkiläiset voivat osallistua omine videoprojisointeineen. Iltatapahtumat ja klubit levittäytyvät VJ-iltoineen ydinkeskustaan Mbariin ja Kansallisteatterin Lavaklubille sekä Bar Sandroon Kalliossa.

Audiovisual performances, screenings of films and video art, exhibitions and much more! The fifth alternative audiovisual arts festival AAVE (Finnish for ghost) appears again in event venues around Helsinki during the second week of April. Shadows flutter and voices echo in our ears while we dive once more to the diversity of moving image....
One of our main program highlights in Malmitalo cultural centre is the video opera An Index of Metals by Fausto Romitelli and Paolo Pachini, co-produced and performed by Sibelius Academy's NYKY Ensemble. The performance combines opera singing, chamber orchestra, electronic music and video art.
Kirsi Reinola's six-part TV documentary series about Finnish media artists will be presented as an installation at Helsinki's Lasipalatsi. The festival also takes over the area of Lasipalatsi square and spreads around the city: Night of The Beamers is a participatory public event where Helsinki residents can participate with their own video projections. Other night-time events including VJ sessions will spread around downtown at Mbar, the National Theatre's Lavaklubi, as well as Bar Sandro in Kallio.
