  "Art's Birthday" is an annual event first proposed in 1963 by French artist
  Robert Filliou.
  
  He suggested that 1,000,000 years ago, there was no art. But one day, on the
  17th of January to be precise, Art was born. According to Filliou, it happened
  when someone dropped a dry sponge into a bucket of water. Modest beginnings,
  but look at us now.
  
  Filliou proposed a public holiday to celebrate the presence of art in our lives.
  In recent years, the idea has been taken up by a loose network of artists and
  friends around the world. Each year the Eternal Network evolves to include new
  partners - working with the ideas of exchange and telecommunications-art.
  
  Artists have celebrated Art's Birthday with lavish parties and gatherings,
  correspondence and mailart, and through Telematic networks using SloScan TV,
  Videophones, music composed for telephone lines, modem-to-modem MIDI
  connections, early bulletin board and chat systems, and (starting in the mid
  1990's) the Internet.
  
  The Art´s Birthday website includes links to many of the participants from
  recent years, and an incomplete chronology of past events. This is the third
  year when Nomadic Academy takes part in Art´s Birthday.

Hyvää uutta vuotta 2012!

Kokeellisten taiteiden nomadinen akatemia perustettiin heinäkuussa 2009 edistämään kokeellisten taiteiden tuntemusta sekä parantamaan korkeakouluissa toimivien taiteilija-tuntiopettajien asemaa. KTNA on järjestänyt tapahtumia ja työpajoja Harakan saarella, osallistuu opetukseen taidekorkeakouluissa ja taideoppilaitoksissa (mm. Kuvataideakatemiassa, Aalto-yliopistossa, Tampereen Taiteen ja viestinnän oppilaitoksessa, Teatterikorkeakoulussa ja Taidekoulu Maassa), pitää luentoja ja lukupiirejä sekä antaa julkilausumia.

KTNA hakee innoituksensa avantgarden traditiosta ja kriittisestä pedagogiasta. Henry Girouxin määritelmän mukaan kriittinen pedagogia on "intohimosta ja periaatteesta voimansa saava koulutuksen liike, mikä pyrkii auttamaan opiskelijoita tulemaan tietoisiksi vapaudesta, tunnistamaan autoritääriset tendenssit sekä yhdistämään tiedon valtaan ja kykyyn ryhtyä rakentavaan toimintaan." Tuotamme sitä tietoa ja niitä taitoja joita taiteilijat voivat opettaa ja välittää eteenpäin. Eetoksenamme ja inspiraationamme toimivat muun muassa Paulo Freiren, Félix Guattarin, Bracha Ettingerin (Yhdessätuotanto, Tutkijaliitto 2009), Mary Douglasin (How Institutions Think) sekä suomalaisen pedagogi-visionaarin Aleksanteri Ahola-Valon ajatukset. Kanadassa toimivien tutkijoiden ja opettajien Erin Manningin ja Brian Massumin kokemukset antihierarkisesta ryhmätyöskentelystä ovat antaneet myös suuntaviivoja toiminnallemme.

LYHYESTI TOIMINNASTAMME

Toisena toimintavuotenamme 2010 pidimme muun muassa aforismivideonäyttelyn “Aphorisms on the bare wall”, järjestimme järjestyksessä toisen AAVE Alternative Audiovisual Event –tapahtuman Malmitalolla Helsingissä, Ritornello-äänitapahtuman sekä luentoja, työpajoja ja screeningtapahtumia yhteistyössä mm. Paimion aforismipäivien, European Humanities Universityn (Vilna, Liettua), Porin Taidemuseon sekä Suomen kulttuuri-instituutti Pariisissa kanssa.

Vuonna 2011 teimme yhteistyötä mm. paikkasidonnaisia ääniteoksia tuottavan whitecolors-kollektiivin, kollektiivisen ryhmätyön uusia muotoja tutkivien Mollekulaarisen organisaationja saksalais-suomalaisen taiteilijaryhmän Hildegard Projekt kanssa. Eventismi-kesätapahtumamme käsitti postitaidenäyttelyn sekä Joonas Sirenin kokoaman 24-tuntisen konsertin Dream House, joka kokosi yhteen 16 esiintyjää ja ryhmää yhteisen konseptin ja katkeamattoman äänimaiseman alle. Syksyllä 2011 aloitimme "Königsbergin sillat" -performanssiprojektin sekä osallistuimme Mollekulaarisen organisaation, Ueinzz-teatteriryhmän sekä Presque de Ruins -ryhmän yhdessä Sao Paulon SESC-keskukseen toteuttamaan Kafkamachine-projektin teatteriesitykseen ja live-installaatioon.

VUOSI 2012

Vuoteen 2012 suuntaamme edelleen lukupiirein, äänitapahtumin, nyt kolmatta kertaa huhtikuussa järjestettävän liikkuvan kuvan AAVE-festivaalin sekä valokopiolehti- sekä postitaideprojektin voimin.

Voluntääriopiskelija-projektimme kiinnittää huomion korkeakoulun valtataistelujen mykkiin todistajiin, niin virallisen statuksen saaneisiin opiskelijoihin, koskaan akateemisiin virkoihin pääsemättömiin, niistä kenties joskus haaveilleisiin mutta valtapeleissä ulkopuolelle jääneisiin "ikuisiin opiskelijoihin" sekä valinnan tai sattuman kautta vapauden tilan saavuttaneisiin riippumattomiin sieluihin. Toukokuussa suuntaamme Mietoisiin Koneen säätiön residenssiin yhdessä Hildegard Projekt -taiteilijaryhmän kanssa ja hyvinkin pian eli 17.1 juhlistamme kansainvälistä Taiteen syntymäpäivää kuten aikaisempinakin vuosina.

Happy New Year from Nomadic Academy of Experimental Arts!

Nomadic Academy of Experimental Arts was founded in july 2009 to progress the knowledge on experimental arts and to pay attention to the position of the artist-teachers of experimental arts. Since then NAEA has arranged events, lectures and workshops in Harakka island, Malmitalo Cultural Centre, in art universities and other venues.

Our inspiration is drawn from avantgarde and critical pedagogy, an "educational movement, guided by passion and principle, to help students develop consciousness of freedom, recognize authoritarian tendencies, and connect knowledge to power and the ability to take constructive action." (Henry Giroux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_pedagogy). We produce the knowledge and skills that the artists and voluntary students can teach and transmit for the future. Our ethos is connected with thinkers like Paulo Freire, Félix Guattari, Bracha Ettinger, Mary Douglas (How Institutions Think), Aleksanteri Ahola-Valo, Erin Manning and Brian Massumi.

SHORTLY ABOUT OUR ACTIVITIES

In our second year 2010 we had the exhibition of aphorism videos “Aphorisms on the bare wall”, the second AAVE Alternative Audiovisual Event, Ritornello-sound festival, lectures, workshops and screenings together with  Paimio Aphorism Days, Helsinki City Cultural Centre Malmitalo, European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania), Suomesta Gallery in Berlin, Pori Art museum and Finnish Cultural Institute in Paris.

In 2011 our collaborators has been among others whitecolors-collective, Mollecular organisation, Art school MAA and Hildegard Projekt. In the spring we celebrated international Art´s Birthday and "Impossible Day". In July we had mail art exhibition, sound workshop and Dream House (24 hour concert coordinated by Joonas Siren from whitecolors-collective). In the autumn 2011 Nomadic Academy started "Königsberg Bridges" -performance project and took part to Kafkamachine Project in Sao Paulo, Brasil.

YEAR 2012

In this year we will have reading group, sound events, AAVE Alternative Audiovisual Event, zine and mail art projects. Voluntary student group pays attention to the silent witnesses of the power struggles inside the institutions, the students, eternal students and independent souls. In May we head up to Mietoinen, to Kone foundation recidency together with Hildegard Projekt. And soon - at 17.1 - there is international Art´s Birthday.

Somalialainen Yasin ja kokkolalainen Marko ovat juuri muuttaneet Helsinkiin, eri teitä ja tahtomattaan.

Joulu on jo ovella mutta kauppa ei vaan käy. Yhteistyö rakoilee ja koko ajan palelee, mutta suurin ongelma on orastava ystävyys.

*Ohjaaja Juho Kuosmanen* (s.1979) on nyt yksi suomalaisen elokuvan kiinnostavimmista nimistä. Vuonna 2010 hän voitti Cannesin Cinefoundation -sarjan ensimmäisen palkinnon elokuvallaan Taulukauppiaat. Palkinto oli jo lähellä muutamaa vuotta aiemmin ohjaajan Kestomerkitsijät-elokuvan tullessa kolmanneksi. Menestys Cannesissa lisäsi kiinnostusta kotimaassa ja Taulukauppiaat sai suomalaisen ensi-iltansa helsinkiläisen Kino Engelin valkokankaalla.

Kuosmasen fiktioelokuva on dokumentaarista. Hahmot ja tapahtumat ovat arkisia, mutta pyrkivät kuvaamaan jotain oleellista. Näyttelijöiksi Kuosmanen valitsee mielellään tuntemattomia nimiä ja pyrkii näin realistiseen ilmaisuun.

Kuosmanen opiskeli elokuvan tekoa Taideteollisessa korkeakoulussa, jonka lopputyönä syntynyt elokuva Taulukauppiaat nähdään nyt Kino Kaikussa. Ohjaajan koko tuotanto on esillä ja Cannesin opiskelijasarjan voittajan lisäksi esitämme elokuvat Galaxien Ritari, Kestomerkitsijät ja Kaupunkilaisia.

Liikeaikakone: lukupiiri Gilles Deleuzen elokuvafilosofiasta

Kuvataideakatemiassa järjestetään kaksi vuotta kestävä lukupiiri ranskalaisen filosofin Gilles Deleuzen liikkuvan kuvan ajattelusta. Tämä blogi toimii tiedotus- ja keskustelukanavana lukupiiriin liittyvissä asioissa. Lukupiiriä vetävät Kari Yli-Annala (Kokeellisten taiteiden nomadinen akatemia) ja Janne Vanhanen (HY).

Deleuzen mukaan elokuvan historiassa tapahtuu liikkeen ja ajan suhdetta koskeva radikaali käänne. Tämä käänne näkyy niin klassisessa ja modernissa elokuvassa, nykyisessä liikkuvaa kuvaa sisältävässä taiteessa kuin liikkuvan kuvan uusissa muodoissakin. Deleuzen mukaan liikkuvan kuvan taide on ajattelua, joka toteutuu sille ominaisten materiaalien välityksellä. Tällainen kuvallinen ajattelu tuottaa uudenlaisia käsityksiä liikkeestä ja ajasta. Lukupiiri valottaa Deleuzen ajatusten merkitystä liikkuvan kuvan nykyisille ja tuleville tekijöille.

Lukupiirin aikana luemme Deleuzen kirjat Cinema 1 (1983) ja Cinema 2 (1985) luku luvulta. Oheislukemistona käytämme Ronald Boguen kirjaa Deleuze on Cinema (2003). Lukukauden 2011–2012 aikana luemme ensimmäisen, liike-kuvaa käsittelevän kirjan Cinema 1 ja lukukauden 2012–2013 aikana toisen, aika-kuvaan keskittyvän Cinema 2:n.

Ensimmäinen kokoontuminen pidetään maanantaina 19.9.2011 klo 16-19 Kuvataideakatemian tila-aikataiteiden osaston screeninghuoneessa (kulkuohjeet Akatemian ala-aulassa). Tuolloin käydään läpi lukupiirin käytäntöjä ja jaetaan alustusvuoroja. Jos et pääse ensimmäiselle kerralle, otathan yhteyttä lukupiirin vetäjiin osoitteessa liikeaikakone (at) gmail.com. HUOM! OPEN DOORS IN ARTIST´S STUDIOS (Taiteilijatalo) IN HARAKKA ISLAND

Welcome to have a small autumn excursion with art to Harakka island!

Harakka artists will arrange traditional "Open Studios Event Day" when
the studios are open and there are studio exhibitions and program in where the
whole family can participate! Also Luontokeskus (Nature Center) and Luontotalo
(House of Nature) is open. In Akvaariotalo (the House of the Aquariums) the
special guide will tell about the life under water.

A Social Art piece where everybody will participate,  12- 14  ja 15.30 – 16, in
a cliff in the open seaside part of the island. Follow the strings and stairs!

A poem walk with Mari Räsänen from the left side end of the Harakka Artists House
at 14.15. In case of rain, it will happen inside the house.

Annette Arlander:  “Katajan kanssa” ("with Juniper") near Lintupiilo (a
bird-watching place) at 15.00

The boat goes every half an hour between 11.00 – 12.00, then 13.00 - 22.00 every half an hour  from Ullanlinna pier (Café Ursula) from Kaivopuisto.

Heinäkuussa Veera Nuutinen kirjoitti kesäisestä Kokeellisten taiteiden nomadisen akatemian ja whitecolors-kollektiivin yhdessä järjestämästä Dream House -konsertista seuraavaa (Henkilökohtaista: Kaiken nähnyt kulttuuritoimittaja herkistyy / Helsingin Sanomat 2.7.2011)

"VUOROKAUSI UNITALOSSA

Otan varaslähdön juhannukseen. Pakkaan reppuun lämpimiä vaatteita ja eväsleipiä. Kaksitoista esiintyjää ja 24 tuntia minimalistista äänitaidetta. Kesäfestivaalien sijaan äärimmäisiä kokemuksia, kiitos! Vuorokauden mittaisen Dream House -konsertin esityspaikka on Harakkasaari Helsingin edustalla. Sen kuullakseen on siis astuttava laivaan.

Galleria Kasematissa on vaikea uskoa, että ulkona paistaa aurinko. Konsertin avaavan Shinji Kankin sävellys kuulostaa siltä, kuin metalliselle kattilankannelle tipahtaisi pisaroita. Ääni paisuu tuulen ulvonnaksi ja ukkosen jyrähtelyksi. Makuupusseilla varustautuneet kuuntelijat loikovat patjoilla lattialla. Meditatiivinen musiikki rauhoittaa uniseksi.

Konsertin esiintyjiä on pyydetty toteuttamaan oma näkemyksensä avantgardesäveltäjä La Monte Youngin käsitetaiteellisesta teoksesta Draw a straight line and follow it. Drone-musiikin isänä pidetty Young määritteli minimalismin "mahdollisimman vähäisin keinoin luoduksi." Musiikin sääntöjen rikkominen, sattumanvaraisuus ja toisto ovat tämän festivaalin esiintyjiä yhdistäviä elementtejä. Soittajat ovat tuttuja kasvoja improvisaatiopohjaisen musiikin tapahtumista. Vuorokauden aikana kuullaan kitarariffejä, siniääntä, kasettiluuppeja, radiolähetyksiä, lokkien kirkunaa ja ihmisäänellä resitoitua latinaa. 

Keskiyöllä osa yleisöstä kiiruhtaa viimeiseen mantereelle palaavaan lauttaan. Me jäljelle jääneet vietämme yön ulkona ja gallerian lattialla. Yön pimeimpinä hetkinä esiintyvän Kuupuun (Jonna Karanka) äänikollaasin sisään voi upota ja nukahtaa, mutta vain minuuteiksi. Hetken päästä äänekäs möykkä repii hereille. Punainen puolikuu nousee taivaalle. Kahvimukillisia, tupakkataukoja. Makuupusseista pilkistävät uniset päät alkavat olla sekaisin valvomisesta ja hypnoottisesta musiikista.

Aamun sarastaessa viimein nukahdan re-clipin toisteisen sähkömusiikin keskelle. Kaksitoista tuntia jatkuneen konsertin ja vajaan tunnin unien jälkeen olo on sekava, mutta euforinen. Ulkona kallioilla lämmittävä aamuaurinko tuntuu jumalaiselta.

FEEDBACK TUNNEL (whitecolors project 3) on paikkasidonnainen feedback-teos Harakan saaressa olevassa vanhassa tunnelissa. Sen kummassakin päässä tulee sijaitsemaan kaiutin ja mikrofoni, jotka aiheuttavat feedback-äänen, jota on transformoitu ja panoroitu Max/MSP-ohjelmalla ottaen huomioon käytävän akustiset vaikutelmat. "Pyrin muokkaamaan tunnelin luonetta auraalisesti, toivottavasti tuomalla sinne toismaailmallisen tunnelman" (J.S.).

Feedback Tunnel (whitecolors project 3) is a site-specific audio feedback piece, which will be located in an old tunnel on the Island of Harakka. "I will place a microphone and a speaker on each of the ends of tunnel that we will create an audio feedback. Still I wanted somehow to edit the sound that I won't be just the normal feedback howling, so I made a Max/MSP patch, which will make different audio operations and panning to the feedback sound, also taking the acoustics of the tunnel into account. My goal is to induce a different kind of atmosphere into the tunnel with aural means, perhaps bringing a sense of otherworldiness." (J.S.)

OLA STÅHL & NEIL CHAPMAN: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO KURT STEINER? (HUOM! Kello 19.00 auditoriossa! OBS! 7pm in auditorium, Taiteilijatalon 2. kerros)

Pohjaten laajaan otokseen lähteistä ja viittauksista ulottuen ranskalaisten filosofien Gilles Deleuze ja Félix Guattari työstä aina löydettyihin valokuviin ja elokuvastilleihin, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO KURT STEINER yhdistää äänityksen ja live-presentaation. Monien epätodennäköisten teknologisten yhdistelmien, liveäänityksen ja päällekkäisen playbackin rajattu joukko teemoja ja kuvia tuodaan esiin toiston ja varioinnin avulla, tutkittuna visuaalisuuden tunnun vaihtuvassa prosessissa tekstin, performanssin, äänen välittymisen ja teknologian synteesin avulla.

Drawing upon a wide array of sources and references ranging from concepts and notions extracted from the work of Deleuze and Guattari, to found photographs and stills from films, to images from sci-fi literature, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO KURT STEINER is a layering of recording and live presentation. Through various unlikely combinations of technology, live recording and superimposed playback, a limited set of themes and images are delivered with repetition and variation, exploring in the process a shifting sense of visuality achieved through synthesis of diverse means - text, performance, sound transmission, technology.

OLA STÅHL

Ola Ståhl on malmöläinen kirjoittaja sekä ääni- ja performancetaiteilija. In Edit Mode Press-kustantamossa hänen vastuualuettaan on taskukirjakokoisten chapbook-kirjojen painaminen.

Taidehistoria ja kulttuuritutkimus sekä Leedsin Yliopiston maisteri- ja tohtoriopinnot taustanaan Ståhl opetti Central Saint Martins College of Art and Designin kuvataiteen koulutusohjelmassa Lontoossa. Nyt hänellä on "vapaa koulu" -projekti C.CRED / Collective CREative Dissent, mikä toimii alustana monille yhteistyössä tehtäville taide-tutkimuksena -projekteille Euroopassa ja USAssa.

C.CREDin myötä hän on ollut mukana useissa teksti- ja äänipohjaisissa projekteissa, usein yhteistyössä muiden taiteilijoiden ja kirjoittajien kanssa. Hän on erityisesti kiinnostunut tekstipohjaisista taiteellisista käytännöistä; käytännöistä, joissa on kyse äänen ja tekstin kohtaamispinnoista; löydetyn materiaalin kierrättämisestä; performatiivisista teksti- ja äänikäytännöistä (jotka pikemminkin "performoivat" kuin teoreettisesti "väittävät"); ääni- ja tekstipohjaisen materiaalin kokeellisesta käyttämisestä sekä yhteistyön muodoista, joissa media ja erilaiset tutkimusalueet kohtaavat.

Ptarmigan-residenssinsä aikana Helsingissä Ståhl on esittänyt useita work-in-progress -esityksiä, joista mainittakoon RANT, Samuel Beckettin romaanin Molloyn tulkinta;  FILM (with Cassandra Troyan), pohjautuen löydettyyn omaelämänkerralliseen käsikirjoitukseen;  ja nyt yhdessä Neil Chapmanin kanssa Kokeellisten taiteiden nomadisen akatemian syksyn ohjelman yhdessä Joonas Sirenin Feedback Tunnel-installaation kanssa aloittava Whatever Happened to Kurt Steiner?

OLA STÅHL

Ola Ståhl is a writer and sound- and performance artist based in Malmö, Skåne (Sweden). He also runs the chapbook imprint In Edit Mode Press.

With a background in Art History and Cultural Studies, and an MA and a PhD from The University of Leeds, he used to teach on the Fine Art program at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, UK. Concurrently, he ran the "free school" project C.CRED / Collective CREative Dissent, operating as a platform for various collaborative art-as-research projects across Europe and the USA.

Since the demise of C.CRED, he has been involved in several text and sound-based project, most of which are collaborations with other artists and writers. He is particularly interested in text based artistic practices; practices engaging interfaces between sound and text; practices re-using and re-cycling found materials; performative text- and sound practices (practices that "perform" rather than "argue" a theoretical position); performance practices drawing upon the experimental rendition of text- and sound material; and collaborative practices, particularly those that cross between media and disciplines.

During his residency at Ptarmigan, Helsinki, Ståhl has performed recent work-in-progress live at several occasions. Work presented include RANT, a reworking of Samuel Beckett's novel Molloy ;  FILM (with Cassandra Troyan), a series of edits of a found auto-biographical manuscript ;  and Whatever Happened to Kurt Steiner? (with Neil Chapman), a text- and sound performance loosely engaging with concepts extracted from the work of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.

NEIL CHAPMAN

Neil Chapman on taiteilija, kirjoittaja ja tutkija. Hänen työnsä tutkii tekstin materiaalisuutta ja tekstuaalisia käytäntöjä, improvisaatiota esityksessä ja lukemisen tapahtumassa sekä visuaalisuuta ja sen eri muotoja ja yhteistyössä tehtyjen teosten metodia.

Hänen viimeaikaisia julkaisujaan ovat Glossolaris (London: AND Publishing, 2010), jossa erilaisia kirjallisia lähteitä käytetään protyyppisen science fiction -romaanin luomiseksi; yhdessä Ola Ståhlin kanssa julkaisuun Deleuze and Contemporary Art (eds. Simon O'Sullivan & Stephen Zepke, Edinburgh University Press, 2010) kirjoitettu ‘BLOODCRYSTALPOLLENSTAR’ ; ja julkaisuun Materiality of Theory (ed. Dronsfield, Birmingham: Article Press 2011) kirjoitettu ‘Two Interviews’.

NEIL CHAPMAN

Neil Chapman is an artist, writer and researcher. His work explores the materiality of text and textual practices, improvisation in performance and reading, visuality and its different forms, and the politics of collaborative working method.

His recent publications include Glossolaris (London: AND Publishing, 2010), in which diverse literary sources are used to create a prototype science-fiction novel; ‘BLOODCRYSTALPOLLENSTAR’, written with Ola Ståhl for Deleuze and Contemporary Art (eds. Simon O'Sullivan & Stephen Zepke, Edinburgh University Press, 2010) implementing collaborative writing strategies to create narratives with implicit philosophical content; and ‘Two Interviews’ for a book entitled Materiality of Theory (ed. Dronsfield, Birmingham: Article Press 2011).

Working with David Stent, Neil Chapman is currently producing a series of five pamphlets to be published as These Weak Kindnesses comprising parallel texts based on Max Ernst’s Une semaine de bonté (1929-33), and a book entitled The Müleskinders edited from contributions by invited writers, artists and philosophers. Neil Chapman lives in London where he teaches contemporary art, philosophy of art and critical studies.

JOONAS SIREN

Joonas Siren on helsinkiläinen kuva/äänitaiteilija ja kokeellinen muusikko, joka opiskelee tällä hetkellä kandi- ja maisteriopintoja Kuvataideakatamiassa Tila-aikataiteiden osastolla. Kesäkuussa 2009 hänet valittiin erillismaisteritutkintoon nimeltä Nordic Sound Art, joka järjestetään viiden pohjoismaalaisen taideakatemian kesken. Sirenin visuaalinen työ kattaa videotaiteen, installaatiot, valokuvauksen ja digitaalisen taiteen.

whitecolors on avoin kollektiivi erilaisille paikkasidonnaisille teoksille sekä ääni- että kuvataiteellisille. Sen perustivat ääni/kuvataiteilijat Eero Pulkkinen ja Joonas Siren kesäkuussa 2011. Ensimmäisenä projektina oli Kokeellisten taiteiden nomadisen akatemian kanssa yhteistyössä järjestetty 24:n tunnin Dream House -konsertti.

JOONAS SIREN

Joonas Siren is Helsinki based visual/aural artist and an experimental musician. Currently studying BA and MA-levels of fine art in Fine Art Academy of Finland in the Time and Space department. In June 2009 was selected also to an extra joint study MA-program called Nordic Sound Art organized between 5 different Nordic Art academies. Visual practice covers video art, installation, photography and digital art.

whitecolors is an open collective for different site-specific sound and visual installations, based in Helsinki, Finland. It was founded in june 2011 by Eero Pulkkinen and Joonas Siren. First project was a collaboration with Nomadic Academy of Experimental Arts a 24 hour Dream House concert.

Yhteysvene Harakkaan Ullanlinnan laiturilta (Cafe Ursula) 11.30 - 16.00 tasatunnein ja puolelta, sitten seuraava vuoro 16.20. Tämän jälkeen 17.00 - 20.20 tasatunnein ja aina 20 minuutin välein. Kutsu vene nostamalla kutsuviitta laiturin päässä. Edestakainen hinta 3,80 € (vain käteinen kelpaa). Saaressa ovat esillä myös Annette Arlanderin ja Ilona Ristan taidenäyttelyt, joista ainakin jälkimmäinen on tiistaina auki pidennettyä aikaa  klo 19 asti.

Connecting boat to Harakka island 11.30 - 16.00 every hour and half an hour, then 16.20 and between 17.00 - 20.20 every hour and every 20 minutes from Ullanlinna pier. Invite the boat by lifting up the sign in the pier. Boat ticket back and forth 3,80 € (only cash). In the island there are also art exhibitions by Annette Arlander and Ilona Rista (useually closed at 5pm, but now I know that at least Rista´s exhibition will be open on Tuesday until 7pm.
